Originally on Materials label in 2002 as a limited edition vinyl only release, and licensed to Jeff Mills Exhibitionist Mix DVD and Federation of Drums compilation in Germany. This much sought after debut EP from Paula Temple is released 10 years later for the first time digitally on Noise Manifesto.
DJ Magazine review:
“Apart from the gritty tribal feel of ‘Punk Funk’, there are a lot of similarities here with some of Jeff Mills’ best work. ‘Contact’ revisits the Detroit innovator’s searing minimal sound and ‘In Reach’ is exactly the kind of ambient sound Mills is also renowned for. The main track also uses the same kind of haunting cinematic chords used on ‘Metropolis’: backed by a dense percussive rhythm track, it makes for a curiously uplifting finale to Temple’s impressive vinyl debut.”
